Server conversions — PDF to Word, Word to PDF and PPTX to PDF: these three conversions are sent to the UMARIX server for conversion only, because a browser alone cannot do them reliably. A file lives only in a temporary folder for that one request, is converted on the server (LibreOffice for Word and PowerPoint, pdf2docx for PDF to Word), and is deleted automatically from the server as soon as the download finishes. The file is also deleted if conversion fails, and any leftover temporary folder older than 15 minutes is deleted automatically. Nothing is kept, nothing is stored in a database, and server logs record only the endpoint, status and byte size — never file contents. Maximum file size for these three conversions is 30 MB. Server conversion may differ slightly from Word or PowerPoint formatting.
